Q: Why is Matexi organising this competition?
- Matexi turns 80 this year. Throughout our history we have helped more than 48,100 families find a warm home and that’s cause for celebration.
- We create homes for every budget, in pleasant neighbourhoods. With this anniversary giveaway we hope to shine an even brighter spotlight on this festive occasion and give two families a helping hand.
- The action is also designed to highlight the growing problem of affordability because “everybody deserves a great place to live”.
- For many people, rising costs and unequal VAT rates mean that an energy-efficient, high-quality home in a pleasant neighbourhood is no longer within reach.
- With this action we obviously want to make two families happy, but hopefully it can also help pave the way for many other families like them.
Q: What prizes are on offer?
- Two purchase vouchers worth €40,000 are up for grabs, making a total of €80,000 in prizes.
- These can be used for the purchase of a new Matexi home until December 2030!
- Even if you are already happy in a Matexi home, with the notarial deed executed in our anniversary year – so after 1 January 2025 – you are also eligible for a €40,000 reimbursement, which we will then pay back.
- And even if you bought a Matexi home in the past (before 2025), there is still a reason to participate: winners may transfer the prize to first-degree relatives, their spouse or legally cohabiting partner.
- Read the competition rules for full details!
Q: I bought a Matexi home in the first half of 2025. If I win, can I pass the prize on to a first-degree relative?
Yes, that’s possible. In that case, you have the option to deduct the prize amount from the Matexi property you have purchased, or to transfer it to a first-degree relative, a legally cohabiting partner, or your spouse. When transferring the prize, it may only be used as a purchase voucher for a Matexi property that has not yet been acquired.
Q: I bought a Matexi home in 2025 (house or apartment) from a previous owner (and not directly from Matexi). Can I use the prize for this purchase?
No, unfortunately that is not possible.
Q: How do I enter?
- It’s very simple: complete the entry form on Matexi.be, which also registers you for the Matexi newsletter. Once every quarter you will then receive relevant information from us.
- After registering you will receive an email with a link to the competition form containing three questions: 2 knowledge questions and 1 tie-breaker question. Once you complete and submit it, your entry is final.
- In December 2025 the winners will be selected in the presence of a bailiff and the prize will be handed over at their home.
- Please note: you can only enter once! Candidates found to enter with multiple email addresses will be disqualified!
- Please note: if you fill in and submit the already completed form again, only the last submitted version will count as your entry for the contest.
Q: Can I participate as a private investor?
Absolutely, we want this action to contribute as much as possible to an affordable housing market, of which renting is a key aspect.
Q: I recently bought a Matexi home just outside the entry period, am I still eligible for the prize?
- Since this action is entirely in celebration of our 80th anniversary and 2025 is our anniversary year, only purchases made in 2025 are eligible for a reimbursement on an already purchased home (house or apartment). Unfortunately we cannot make any exceptions.
- Nevertheless it is still worth participating because winners may transfer the prize to first-degree relatives, their spouse or legally cohabiting partner.
- Although the prize will therefore not apply to your current home, you could still make a loved one very happy!
Q: How is the €40,000 purchase voucher deducted from the purchase of a Matexi house or apartment?
If you win the €40,000 purchase voucher, the amount will be deducted in one of two ways:
- If the property has not yet been delivered: €40,000 will be recorded as paid and deducted from the amount you still need to pay to Matexi at the provisional completion of your house or apartment. If the remaining balance at provisional completion is less than €40,000, the balance will be transferred to the bank account you provide.
- If the property has been delivered and the notary deed was signed after 1 January 2025: the €40,000 will be transferred to the bank account you provide.
Important info:
- The €40,000 will be deducted in a single transaction and cannot be split.
- The purchase voucher cannot be exchanged or used for other purchases, such as building plots or a property via hire purchase.
- The official sale price of your property remains unchanged. In other words, the full sale price will be invoiced, just like for other (non-winning) clients.
- Any taxes and additional costs associated with the purchase of your property, or with winning or transferring the prize, are always your responsibility.
